ICBC Claim Roadmap: The 4 Stages of Your 2025 Recovery
Don't let your claim stall. Master these 4 stages to get your car back on the road efficiently.
The ICBC claim process is now almost entirely digital. Understanding these four stages will help you navigate the system without unnecessary delays.
Phase 1: Intake & Claim Number
After reporting online or by phone, you will receive a Claim Number. This number is essential; give it to your doctor, your physiotherapist, and your auto body shop. It tracks everything related to your accident.
Phase 2: Liability Assessment
An ICBC adjuster will review the reports from both drivers. If you have dashcam footage, this is the time to upload it via the ICBC portal. They will determine fault: 100% at fault, 50/50 split, or 0% at fault.
Phase 3: Damage Estimation & Repair
You no longer need to visit a "Claim Centre" for an estimate. Take your car directly to an ICBC cArp (Certified) Facility. The shop will take digital photos and send an estimate to ICBC. Once approved, they order parts and start work immediately.
Phase 4: Deductible & Vehicle Pickup
When the repairs are finished, you pick up your car at the shop. If you were found at fault, you pay your deductible directly to the repair shop. If you were 0% at fault, you pay nothing and simply drive away.
Summary: The process is faster than it used to be. Choose a certified shop and use the online portal to track your liability status.--- slug: icbc-claim-process-2025 title: "ICBC Claim Roadmap: The 4 Stages of Your 2025 Recovery" description: A complete breakdown of the modern ICBC claim process.
